Con Edison maintains a storm watch system and prepares well in advance for storm emergencies. When such emergencies do occur, our repair crews work around the clock to restore service as quickly as possible. The length of time needed to restore service depends on the extent of damage to electrical equipment, weather conditions, and how many fallen trees and branches must be cleared away.
